We met for a birthday lunch, but I managed to turn it into a finding opportunity. And a sunburn opportunity. But we found nifty animal bones and metal bits.
Cheryl Colan's video journal of Phoenix College's course entitled "Urban Field Studies: The Art of Finding." The hands-on class highlights locating and creating with found resources. Trips to local thrift stores, salvage yards, and urban fields introduce students to locating and documenting resources. Students create with found materials in the field and studio. Taught by Joe Willie Smith, a multimedia artist who creates works of art with found materials.

that looks like fun. I'm not sure I could convince my mother to do that with me. I'm not even sure I would do it. Still, finding things is always interesting.
